Zombies Chapter One

Chapter one
s'HELL' Gas
You wake up, It feels like you have slept forever. You look at the clock. Its off. You check the plug. It's plugged in, so you try turning on a light and discover the powers out. Everybody went on vacation and your the only one in the house and you don't feel like eating a cold breakfast so you throw on a jacket grab your wallet, keys. Slip into some shoes. You didn't want to dig through the laundry for some socks so you say screw it and go as you are.
You hop in the car and listen to your new CD as you drive to the shell station. "Man I just can't wake up" You shake it off and concentrate on not swerving. You pull up to the station and look for a place to park. That's when you look up for the first time. There was a station wagon sitting in the middle of the parking lot, a truck parked off to the side. No other cars where in the lot.
The power was off here too. The steel gate was still down over the doors.
"Damn, I just want something to eat." You sigh. and drive to the gas station a little closer to town. It's closer to town so the power might be on. besides if the power is out there, I'L be close enough to run into town if I have to.
You head to the gas station. You try to shake off the grogginess. As you pull in things look a little better,The power is on, although it looks a bit empty. There's a couple of cars in the lot, and a van is pulled up to the pump.
You walk in and go to nod at the person behind the counter, nobody's there. "I hope I don't have to wait forever on this bitch." You walk up to the food counter, and hope they still have breakfast.
There are a few eggs and a couple of old pieces of bacon left. "Screw it, I'm hungry." You look up to place your order. No one was there. "Hello!" Your getting pissed off, as your stomach growls. You just wanted to get a bite and have a lazy day on the x-box.
No answer. "Excuse me!!" Nothing. "Damn it." You start walking around you store.
You look all around the place and finally look in the back. There was a lot of stuff piled up on the other side,

Option 1. You had enough of waiting. You grab some food, coffee, and a pack of smokes for your trouble.
you drop a few bucks on the table on your way out.

Option 2. You push that crap out of your way and look for the person that works here to give them a piece of your mind.

You pull into your drive, as you walk in your door you can't shake this weird feeling. You walk into the bedroom and grab your Highpoint .45. You dig around and find your cell phone. Luckily enough there's still plenty of battery. You dial 911 and go and lock your front door. It rings quite a few times but nothing happens, so you start going through the contact list, just start calling people at random. So far all you get is voice-mail. "What the fuck?" you think to yourself. "Screw it, I'll just go to my buddy's house. I know he's home."

You can't shake this feeling, and you know your buddy's into guns too, so you grab up your SKS, Highpoint .45, scoped .308 bolt. You grab up some food and pop and hop in the car. On your way there, you notice that everything seems really dead. There's a lot of cars off to the side of the road, and the weather doesn't really seem bad enough for it. You pull into the driveway of your buddy's duplex. His neighbor's not home, but you see his car. You walk up and knock on the door and let yourself in. He's sitting on the couch playing X-box. He looks up at you. "Jeremy, I tried calling you but all I got was voice-mail," he says. "Same here! What the hell's going on?" you say. "I don't know what you're talking about, I've been sitting here playing X-box all day!"

You tell him about what happened at the gas station. "Dude, that's weird," he says, as he walks to his closet. He takes a few guns out and sets them on the table (.380 Patriot, single-shot 12 gauge, Marlin 30-30 lever). "I brought mine too," you say. "Hey, let's run down to the Police station and tell them what happened to you," he says. "Eh, you know, I just got this new game...Here's what we'll do. We'll keep trying them back for the next hour. If we don't get them by the end of that hour, we'll go to the Police station. We've got guns, we'll be fine," you say.

You get sucked into the game a bit. Every now and then when one of you needs a pop or a bathroom break, you call, but nothing happens. The next thing you know, it's dark outside, and the phone rings. It's your area code, but you don't recognize the number. You answer, "Hello?"

"Wh- a- -er- DEAD! Da- *pow, pow* RUN! Th- m- f- gas and ammo p- n- NOW! dial tone "

William cocks his head and looks at you, puzzled. "What's up?" he says. "Uhhh...I don't know, but something's not good." You feel the hairs on the back of your neck prick up. "Do you hear that? Is somebody messin' with my car?" William says, and grabs up his shotgun, starting to head for the door. You get this real bad feeling. So you say to William, "Hold on a second, I'm coming with you." Although you don't really want to go outside. You go outside, and it's really dark. Not all of the street lights are working, and the one closest to you is blinking. You hear what sounds like footsteps, but you can't place where it's coming from. "Hello?" William says. The sound gets louder. It sounds as if its coming from the trees, maybe 50 yards away from the house. "Hello?" The noise is still there, but doesn't seem to be getting any louder. You try peeking through the trees from where you're at to try to get a better view at what's out there, and you make out a person. Just as you start inching closer, a truck pulls into the driveway.

Somebody gets out of the truck, but they left the headlights on and you can't see them. The blinking street light kicks on fully, and you can make out a silhouette. As he gets closer, the silhouette gets smaller. As he rounds the truck and stands in front of the headlights, you see it's your buddy Edward. "Who's ride do you have? You don't have a license," William says. "I took my dad's. He's off in Montana visiting my uncle. What he doesn't know won't hurt me! You know the odometer's broken in this old thing," says Edward. "What's so important that you had to risk a World Record Ass Beating to get here?" you ask. "You don't know the half of it!" Edward says. "You should see what's in the cab!"

Edward waves you on and starts walking to the truck. "Actually, I got a call from Thomas," he says. "Really? What about?" you ask. "Well, his phone is shit, so I couldn't really understand most of it," he says. "But he's coming up from Ohio, and promised to kick my ass if I didn't get some guns over here." He opens the door of the truck (.357 Magnum single action revolver, double-barrel 12 guage, .357 Magnum lever action, .22 semi-auto rifle). "Ha-ha-ha, dad is gonna skin your ass! He's been saving for that pistol for ever!" You say. "So when's Thomas coming up?" you ask. "He'll be here later tonight, but let's get out of this driveway," Edward says.

Option 1: Investigate the guy in the woods
Option 2: Just follow the story

You and your friends walk up to the porch, you look over at Edward to say something and see a guy standing on the other side of the railing. "Whoa, look out." you say pulling Edward back a ways. The guys grunts and starts climbing over the railing. You pistol whip him in the face. He lets out a breath and shows his teeth. "Shit lets get in the house!" William says. The guy falls over the railing just as you start into the house, he gets up surprisingly fast and sticks his arm in the door as you try to shut it. You keep the door closed as William tries to push his arm out. pow. Edward fires a shot off. "Alright mother fucker, You picked the wrong house, get out of here or the next one's going through your head."
The guy pushes the door open a bit and manages to grab Williams collar. "Shoot him Ed!" You yell. Pow pow. Two shots rip through the door hitting him in the torso. He pulls harder on Willam's collar and gets his head through the door. pow pow pow pow. Edward fires a whole clip through the door. You look back and see he's using a .22 mossberg plinkster. The guy starts biting at William but Will pulls his head back.
"Use a bigger gun Ed!...Aim for the head!" You yell. "Its too close to William's!" Edward says as he picks up a .357 lever and shoots through the door. The guy squeezes through the door a little more and can almost reach William.

You get this idea, You swing the door open. The guy falls on William but before he realizes he can bite Will now, you touch the barrel of your .45 to his head and fire. His body goes slack and William pushes him off, shocked beyond words. "How many times did you hit him Ed?" You ask. "About 13, ten with you plinkster and three with dad's gun." "I don't care how many drugs your on, that would kill you." You say.
"Did you see his eyes? He had to be on something." William says, starring at the body. "Ed help me put him outside." You and Edward drag the body onto the porch and come inside.

"What the fuck is going on? I'm sick of people trying to bite my ass!" William says. "I don't know, Edward did you find anything out when you talked to Thomas?" You ask. "No man, I couldn't hear much. all I really got was that something bad is happening and he's coming here, so I grabbed up a bunch of stuff and came here." Edward says. "Well screw it I'l try him." you pick up the phone and call Thomas.

Ring__"Shit! (Heavy breathing) Not the time to get a call Jeremy!__(Heavy breathing)__(Car door opens)"Oh damn oh damn oh damn!"_(Glass breaks)"Get the hell off me bitch!" pow pow pow_(Engine starts) "I'm ok I'll be there in a few, Man! fucking zombies__dial tone.

"Whats up?" William says. "Is he alright?" Edward says. "Um." Ring. You jump, you look at your phone, it's Jon, Your friend in who's in Minnesota visiting family. You answer the phone.
"Hello?" You say. "Hey are you guys alright?" Jon says. "Yeah I guess, what about you?" You ask. "I'm fine, I'm at my neighbors house, You remember me talking about him. He's a gun nut. Well he's not home but I have a key, so I'm hanging out in his basement." Jon says. "Ok, Thomas is on his way here, once he gets here we will be coming to get you." You say. "Don't worry about me for now. I have lots of old MREs and lots of guns and old movies. I'm not going anywhere." Jon says. "Ok we will try to keep you up to date." You say. "Alright bye." Jon says. You end the call.

"Ok we need to think about survival right now." you say. "We are going to get an 'I told you so' from Thomas when he gets here." William says. "Yeah well, Let's check out our ammo and weapons, we need to know what we have to work with." You say. "Hey should we see how much gas we have?" Edward says. "Good idea. Let's see what we got." You and your friends search the entire house for weapons and anything that can be used as one, once you've striped the house of anything useful you stop for a break. You have your finding laid out on the floor in front of you, everyone's sitting down. You have several kitchen knives, some heavy wooden table legs for clubs, a base ball bat, Several pocket knives, two hatchets, your guns, .367 lever action rifle, .357 single action pistol, .22 semi automatic rifle, single shot 12 gauge shot gun, 30-30 lever action rifle, double barrel 12 gauge shot gun, .380 semi automatic handgun, 7.63x39 semiautomatic rifle, .308 bolt action rifle with scope, and a .45 semiautomatic hand gun. altogether around 500 rounds of ammunition.

"Shew, Man you have a lot of crap William." Edward says. "Your telling me, I'm thinking about having a yard sale." William says. "You know, that would be funny if I wasn't so tired. We need to keep moving, Grab some coffee and we need to go check on the gas." You say. You all go get a cup of coffee and stand out side. It seams really quiet, You don't see any movement. Edward is sitting in the truck checking the gas gauge. "Man you wouldn't believe all of the stuff I grabbed." Edward says. "Well if you started taking dad's stuff you would probably need a trailer."You say with a smile. "Actually I got stuff from my house, your house, and uncle Rays... Wait did you see that?" Edward says, looking into the rear view mirror. "Yeah I saw a blinking blue light in the tree across the street." William says.
You see a man walk out of the trees carrying a pistol griped shotgun and pulling a wagon. As he gets closer, you can see he has a rifle across his back. "It's Thomas." You say. "Mother fucking howdy. My car ran out of gas a few miles back... Damn good to see you guys." Thomas says.
